Zinnias are one of those bright, beautiful showstoppers you’ll find in most Summer bouquets. Their colors range from pinks and reds to bright yellows and whites and really help give an arrangement that pop. Since growing them on a large scale, I’ve also learned that they provide a much loved napping spot for bumble bees too!
Sunflowers
I have really enjoyed watching these grow. I have used a large mix of sizes and colors for my sunflower rows this year and I’m so happy I did! They add such a bright touch of sunshine to the bouquets and I hope to keep them going until our first frost.
Salvia
I like to keep a balance of both specialty flowers and native plants. This way, the bouquets are gorgeous, but the native pollinators are happy and taken care of too. Salvia is a favorite of mine. You can often find the pink or purple stems poking out of my bouquets. I do, however, have a hard time harvesting enough as it’s such a busy pollinator stop and I want to make sure they get their share too. It’s all about balance, right?!
